
World Bank Division Director Visit to Samoa

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of FinanceHonorable Mulipola Anarosa Ale Molioo hosted the courtesy meeting with theWorld Bank Division Director Ms. Proskuryakova and her delegation in Samoa from11 to 14 August 2026. The mission provided an important opportunity forconstructive dialogue between the Government of Samoa and the World Bank onSamoa’s development priorities, economic growth prospects, and future areas ofcollaboration.
The delegation also met with senior Governmentofficials of implementing agencies with focused discussions on implementationprogress and challenges in the current project portfolio, and how to address toaccelerate implementation progress.
In addition, consultations were held on the draft Samoa Country Growth and Jobs Reportprepared by the Bank. The report identifies pathways for accelerating economicgrowth, improving productivity, and creating more and better employmentopportunities for Samoans was conducted, inviting senior Government officialsand representatives from the private sector and civil society, including SamoaChamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Samoa Umbrella for NGOs (SUNGO), SamoaAssociation of Manufacturers and Exporters (SAME), Samoa Business Hub (SBH),Women in Business Development Inc. (WIBDI) exploring how the report’s findingscan support Samoa’s development priorities and contribute to long term economicresilience and job creation.
